About Me
I am a photographer and painter based in Madrid.
I grew up surrounded by paintbrushes, with a painter for a father and the Prado Museum as my first great school. At age 16, I discovered the camera, which led me years later to study analog photography and darkroom techniques. Later, I trained in painting and fine arts.
After a period spent exploring other areas of photography, I returned to my personal work with a free and painterly approach. I work with different techniques and visual languages, creating series in which I explore the transformation of reality, perception, light, color, and movement.
How These Images Come to Be
Each series stems from a different exploration. I don't start with a single technique or a set procedure: I experiment with various photographic and painterly techniques until I find the approach that best expresses each idea.
To me, photography and painting are two related languages. In photography, the camera takes the place of the paintbrush; in painting, the brushstroke takes the place of the shutter. It is the same perspective expressed through different languages.
